Drawing from an understanding of how the conscious and subconscious work in tandem when interpreting spaces, Victoria Popp’s design goal is to make subtleties tangible. “Our environment affects us more than we recognize,” says Popp.  “It’s not just the organizational and practical aspects of a well-designed space that make our existence more comfortable, it’s also the nuanced, suggestive influence.”

Creating areas with the end users keenly in mind, her humanistic touch brings traditional ideas about identity in line with the sensitivities of environments in an empowering way. “When someone is willing to step up and show who they are in building materials and decor, they’re creating a truth that’s visible to both occupants and visitors. There’s a strength in that.”

Popp’s rounded and heady approach stems from a professional upbringing accountable to both form and function. A graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University’s acclaimed interior design program, her post-collegiate work found her supporting DC-area architecture firms and serving as a member of the special projects group of the International Monetary Fund. Armed with an understanding of the business role design could play in working spaces, Popp opened the doors of her own firm in 2004 and has since been successfully offering up her balanced interior style to clients across the country.

With memberships in professional organizations ranging from the American Society of Interior Designers to the International Interior Designers Association (and a handsome scholarship and awards record to boot), Popp’s recognized presence in the interiors arena is a testament to the designs that are the product of her attentive, thoughtful approach.
